Hydraulic steering (HPS) uses a pump and fluid to make turning the wheels easier. Electric steering (EPS) does the same job with an electric motor and sensors — no fluid.
In hydraulic systems the most common issues are pump wear, hose and seal leaks. In EPS systems you see motor, torque-sensor and column faults.
Both systems must be diagnosed with proper equipment. In our workshop we handle hydraulic rack/pump overhaul as well as EPS column and sensor repair with test equipment, delivered with a road test.
